Grades 7-8 - Mrs. Castro & Mrs. Rodgers
Tuesdays, Weekly, 3:15 PM - 4:15 PM, Starting in December

A team competition similar to Scholastic Scrimmage. Individuals must answer a toss-up question so the team can work together on bonus questions. All students who pass the qualifying test may try out for the team. After many weeks of competition among participants, a team of 8 students will be chosen to represent STM at the annual competition at Allentown Central Catholic High School. The winning team advances to represent our district in the Diocesan competition.

Fridays, Monthly-1st Week, 3:15 PM - 4:15 PM

Come and learn how to pray the Rosary so we can all grow closer to Jesus! We will listen to the story of Our Lady of Fatima (Mary), and the important message she gave the three shepherd children for the world!

Chess is one of the oldest and most popular board games in the world. It is a great game to learn to play competitively or to have casual conversations. Come join us whether you know how to play or want to learn.

Grades 5-8 - Miss Kolonia

This year's musical is Beauty and the Beast, Jr. The students who participate in the musical can be a part of on-stage and off-stage activities. There is a place for everyone, including acting, singing, dancing, stage crew, lights and sound, costumes, and more! Come see the show on May 16th, 17th & 18th!

Grades 7-8 - Ms. Molnar

A statewide organization of students designed to stimulate and promote interest in science through the development of research projects and investigations. Students are eligible to enter their work in a state competition held in May at The Pennsylvania State University in University Park.

Wednesdays, Monthly-3rd Week, 3:15 PM - 4:15 PM

Reading Olympics is a program for students who love to read, talk about books, and display their vast knowledge in a friendly but competitive environment. Grade level teams will be formed, and they will work together to read a total of twenty-five assigned books. We will refine our knowledge of the books during our meetings and participate in a competition against other schools from the area in the spring. STJW won 2nd and 3rd place last year; we’d love to continue our winning streak!
